The 30th & 31st AKS Summer Program for International Students

The Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) is pleased to announce the "30th & 31st AKS Summer Program for International Students." As an important part of our mission is to cultivate young leaders, who can contribute to the development of Korean studies, the academy has organized an intensive summer program for international undergraduate students in Korean studies. This program is composed of various components, such as special lectures on Korea, intensive Korean language course, field trips, excursions, and traditional cultural activities. Since its starting in 1993, we held the program for 29 times and around 836 students from 70 countries attended the program. 

In 2020, due to the COVID situation, it was inevitably run online, but it received good response from participants. The 30th and 31st AKS Summer Program for International Students in 2021 are scheduled to be run online, focusing on Korean language classes and special lectures on Korean studies. Korean language classes and experiential classes such as cooking and traditional crafts will be planned in both directions, while special lectures on Korean studies, including history, economy, culture, and arts, will be planned through an online education system. 

If you want to participate in a AKS Summer Program for International Students that will be held twice online during summer vacation, please refer to the following and apply.  

(Program contents will be same. Please choose between two period.)

■ Program Period

- The 30th : June 5 (Mon) – July 23 (Fri), 2021, 3 weeks

- The 31st : Aug 9 (Mon) – August 27(Fri), 2021, 3 weeks

■ Language of the Program

All programs will be in Korean. Therefore the participants are recommended to possess basic Korean language skills.
